Emerging Teaching Artist Fellowship 2017
This fellowship is a jobs-training program for artists from under-represented communities interested in teaching. The Emerging Teaching Artist seminar series uses creative teaching techniques, readings, and meetups with Austin arts organizations to develop skill sets in curriculum planning, classroom management and creative teaching. Fellows learn the ins and outs of classroom and behavior management, curriculum development and lesson planning, the value of creativity and arts education, working with diverse populations, effective facilitation, and career preparation and development. Fellows complete this program ready to begin working as a teaching artist.
Austin Involved Board Internship 2016
The Austin Involved Board Internship Program, produced in partnership with Mission Capital and the Austin Young Chamber, creates nonprofit board members immediately prepared to serve our community. The internship consists of two levels of learning: classroom instruction focused on the application of best-practices in a nonprofit board setting, and practical learning with current nonprofit staff and board members. The program connects local professionals with Austin area nonprofits in need of well prepared board members.
